The musical inspiration for this album comes from sources as divergent as German synth pioneers Kraftwerk, American minimalist composer Terry Riley, Cameroonian musician/poet/sculptor Francis Bebey, and Argentine sonic innovator Juana Molina. But the story telling and musical journey-making of Laurie Anderson may be closest to informing the dreamlike, yet kinetic quality of Jacky + Dean's songs.
